Montreal West Island CIUSSS is currently looking for nurses to join the Intensive Care Unit team at St. Mary's Hospital Center.

Duties and responsibilities :

As a Critical Care Nurse, you will play a vital role in the management of patients requiring constant monitoring and advanced medical interventions. You'll work closely with a multidisciplinary team of physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality, life-saving care.

• Regularly assess patients, monitor their vital condition, interpret vital signs, test results and monitoring data, and detect any change or deterioration in the patient's condition;
• Administer medications, specialized treatments and therapies according to medical orders, following established protocols to ensure patient safety;
•  Establish a relationship of trust with patients and their families, help them understand their condition, answer their questions and provide emotional support throughout their stay in critical care;
• Work closely with the critical care team to develop individualized care plans, participate in team meetings and share your knowledge and skills to contribute to continuous quality improvement;
• Recognize and respond quickly to medical emergencies and critical situations, following resuscitation protocols and guidelines established to ensure patient safety.

Requirements :

The person we are looking for must:

• Hold a Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC) in Nursing, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or a diploma deemed equivalent by the competent authorities;
• Be a member of the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec (OIIQ);
• Ability to establish a therapeutic relationship with both French- and English-speaking clients;
